Deebot N79 — attractive praise for necessary features

Frankly speaking because of the low price I was biased about Deebot’s N79 quality, but now I am pleasantly surprised by its easy control via the APP that I am used to, thus I’d like to share my impression on it in my robot vacuums comparison based on my own testing.

Deebot N79 Pros & Cons

Pros

  • It doesn’t bump into light furniture. It avoids table legs and people. I have a dog and they don’t bother each other
  • The scheduling works right on time, so I am not bothered by it during a day. It’s definitely self-dependant
  • It is super easy to empty and clean the trash bin. It is provided with a special tool to clean the filters and roller, so I don’t need to adjust other rags for it

Cons

  • I am not satisfied with its carpet cleaning. It looks like it wasn’t created for it. I have a big one in the living room, so it is the biggest disadvantage for me
  • It takes too much time to find its charging station; also, during the second cleaning, it lost Wi-Fi connection
  • The switch to start is very sensitive and my dog turned it on because it’s on the top. So, I worry about such unplanned cleaning, when wires and toys are on the floor

Roomba 690 — super quality at the super cost

Although this model has brand-new options like Wi-Fi and Alexa that makes the connection with the device through voice commands for me faster, I suggest top sensor could be better.

Roomba 690 Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • It provides smart house features, so I have connected it to Google home to start cleaning through my voice command
  • It senses the dirtiest area and moves right there, going in circles to do an extra cleaning
  • It signals about a problem straight away, so I can quickly fix it with its recommendations on the App. It stuck under a dresser and momentarily gave me a signal via the phone

Cons

  • A sensor to the top needs to be added because it stuck under my low dresser and it immediately sent me a message that it had happened
  • At the first time, it bumped massively into furniture, I was afraid that it would continue in the same way, but next time it improved. Then it even slowed down while approaching places of a clash
  • It goes with one tower, so I can close only dog bowls with it but what about doorways?

Are you still thinking to take Ecovacs Deebot N79 vs iRobot Roomba 690?

If you are still choosing Deebot N79 vs Roomba 690, check up more of my Roomba comparisons, I have done a plenty of them including results from my own testing experience. This is definitely more helpful than dry figures in iRobot Roomba 690 vs Ecovacs Deebot N79 comparison chart.

Roomba 690 has a longer battery life and bigger dustbin capacity (700 versus 300 ml, respectively), but Deebot N79 has a bigger number of cleaning stages (4 to 3).

However, Deebot N79 doesn’t clean carpets properly and hasn’t got voice control. In contrast, Roomba 690 occasionally sticks under low furniture.

So, before making a purchase, consider that if you need to save money and get necessary features such as a good battery and a dustbin, Deebot N79 is more reasonable purchase if we compare it to Roomba 690, but if you are searching for innovative technology with additional options like voice command, Roomba 690 is for you.
