iRobot Roomba 690 vs Samsung POWERbot R7040 Pet Vacuum: which one is better?

Today, robot vacuums are worthy of competition for conventional vacuum cleaners. I had an opportunity to test and compare Samsung POWERbot R7040 vs iRobot Roomba 690.

Most of the functions of these vacuum cleaners are the same but still there is some difference between them.

Let's compare the suction and dustbin capacity of these devices. Testing has shown that the Roomba 690's absorption is quite powerful. After 70 minutes of cleaning, the trash bag was full. If we talk about Samsung – suction is good, and it did a pretty good job, collecting everything it went through, including fine dust and dirt. Samsung has surpassed itself with Powerbot in everything, from packaging to build quality to the R7040 – it's first-class and head and shoulders above other brands on the market.

iRobot Roomba is designed for daily dry cleaning of premises with any type of hard and carpet flooring, with an area of about 50 sq.m. Similarly, Samsung, for the first time when he cleaned my house (1250 sq. ft.). It took two separate passes to complete the house, but it got to every inch of the house it could reach.

Roomba 690 is noisy, although this applies to almost every vacuum cleaner robot. As it seemed to me, Samsung is less noisy, but I don’t want to talk on the phone while the robot cleans up. I would advise simply to program the vacuum cleaner and go on business and monitor the operation of the device on the phone.

I want to note that not a single vacuum cleaner is suitable for covering with a long pile (from 3 to 5 cm), it simply will not even call in on such a carpet. This vacuum cleaner is suitable for a pile of no more than 1.5 cm.
