Roomba E5 vs 960: Alexa-Compatible Robotic Vacuums with HEPA Filter
In the Roomba E5 vs 960 comparison, we have two similarly-built robotic vacuum cleaners from iRobot's Roomba line. The models can clean on all types of floors, have a compact (3.6-inch) size, provide full control with the iRobot Home app, work with Alexa, use a HEPA anti-allergy filter, and have other similarities. However, the E5 appears to be a newer and more advanced model with a smarter cleaning path, making a great competition to the 960.
Suction and dustbin capacity
Bringing into comparison the Roomba 960 vs E5 suction power, I find out that the Roomba E5 is an unquestionable winner here. This model creates an incredible 1700 Pa of suction versus 900 Pa that you can get from the Roomba 960. However, the 960 has a larger dirt compartment that is able to hold up to 750ml of dirt while the one used by the E5 has a capacity of 500ml.
Using area
The 960 can cover an area of 1500 square feet per one cleaning cycle. Compare it to the E5, which is a more advanced model in this regard, capable of cleaning a 2100 square foot floor area.
Noise level
Basing on my iRobot Roomba 960 vs E5 noise level measurements, I concluded that the 960 is a less noisy model. My sound level meter has shown that it has a noise level of 61 dB while the E5 was rated at 65 dB. In fact, however, it is difficult to detect this distinction.
Carpet cleaning
Turning both cleaners upside down, you will see that they are supplied with the same cleaning equipment: a multi-surface rubber brush and a side brush. They both also use the Power-Lifting Suction technology that helps the cleaners pick up dirt from the carpet's pile more efficiently. Nevertheless, the iRobot Roomba E5 robot vacuum vs iRobot Roomba 960 carpet cleaning test results have shown that the E5 is more efficient since it sucks more dirt.
