Roomba E6 vs 960: Smart Robotic Cleaners with Rubber Brushes
The following Roomba E6 vs 960 review shows the test results of two robotic cleaners from iRobot. Belonging to one line (Roomba), they do have a lot of identical features such as smartphone control via iRobot Home app, Alexa and Google Assistant support, iRobots's patented iAdapt navigation technology, etc. However, being from different series, they do have some significant distinctions. For example, with a different battery capacity, the 960 is more powerful (2130 mAh versus 1800 mAh).
Suction and dustbin capacity
The 960 is definitely a more effective option when it comes to ingrained contaminations: the suction level of 1700 Pa is one of the most powerful ones you can find in the 900 vacuum series. In this regard, the E6 is a much more modest model: the 900 Pa suction is below average.
To compare Roomba 960 vs E6 dustbin sizes, I pulled them out of the cleaners and the one owned by the 960 was clearly bigger. As it's specified by the manufacturer, it has a capacity of 750ml while the E6 can hold only 500ml of dirt.
Using area
When you compare the 1500 sq. ft. coverage capability of the 950 to the 1600 sq. ft. coverage capability of the E6, the difference of 100 sq. ft. won't make a significant difference for you.
Noise level
Comparing the iRobot E6 vs 960 noise level, you also won't notice drastic differences. My measurements have shown that the 960 emits 61 dB of noise and the E6 produces 65 dB. Such noise won't be louder than the background music.
Carpet cleaning
The units are equipped with rubber brushes that have nibs for deeper penetration in the carpet fiber. The 960, on the other hand, provides deeper and more thorough cleaning, especially when it comes to stubborn dirt, thanks to a much higher suction power level. However, if comparing iRobot Roomba E6 vs 960 performance on the carpet that isn't heavily contaminated, both of them deal with it easily.
