Roborock S5 Max vs S6: Larger Dustbin vs Advanced Mopping

This Roborock S5 Max vs S6 comparison reveals differences between two robotic cleaners from Xiaomi that have top-notch navigation and a mopping function. However, since the S5 Max is the successor of the S6, these models have some noticeable differences. For example, the S5 Max has a more advanced mopping ability than its competitor.

Suction and dustbin capacity

The Roborock S6 vs S5 Max dustbin capacity comparison has demonstrated that the Roborock S6 has a slightly larger dustbin than the Roborock S5 Max (480 ml versus 460 ml). In practice, though, this difference is imperceptible.

In the next point of the S5 Max vs S6 battle, these robots appeared to be equal: they both have a suction level of 2000 Pa. Note that the cleaners don’t always work at this suction level as they have 4 cleaning modes: Quiet, Balanced, Turbo, and Max.

Using area

There is not much sense to compare Roborock S5 max and S6 in terms of their maximum using area since both models can cover an area of around 2000 square feet. They can easily be used by owners of small and middle-sized houses.

It also should be noted that these Roborocks have an amazing battery life of 180 minutes. This way, they can freely clean several rooms on one charge.

Noise level

The noise level of both cleaners, stated on Roborock's official website, is 58 dB. Indeed, even in spite of the quite a considerable suction level of 2000 Pa, both of these cleaners work quietly. The reasons for that are a durable motor (that doesn’t have to work hard to get the job done and, consequently, doesn’t emit loud noises) and noise-absorbent materials that muffle the noise. Still, our measurements have shown that the noise level of both cleaners exceeds 62 dB when they work in a Max mode. Such a noise level is equivalent to listening to a normal conversation. The ability of these cleaners to absorb the noise is really impressive.

This way, it’s hard to spot the quieter model in the S6 vs S5 Max noise level comparison.

Carpet cleaning

The compared cleaners can “sense” the carpet surface and switch to the Max mode (the one with the highest suction level) automatically, so you don’t even have to do something to make sure that your carpets are cleaned thoroughly.

Both models do a great job at cleaning large and small debris from the carpet. Nevertheless, in spite of the fact that these robots have the same suction power and come equipped with the same motor, the S5 Max somehow manages to show better results when it comes to the dirt ingrained in carpet piles.

So, if I had to choose a winner in the S5 Max vs S6 Roborock carpet performance comparison, I would choose the S5 Max.
