The Roborock brand has affiliations with tech giants Xiaomi and follows the latter’s innovative footsteps to create the Roborock S6 Pure. The brand created the S6 Pure as a budget option for people looking to experience some perks of robot vacuum cleaners like the Roborock S6 or S6 Max without paying their premium prices.
The Roborock S6 Pure doesn’t take up space, which is ideal for people who don’t have a lot of storage space in their apartments. The device has a dimension of 13.78 x 1.9 x 3.78 inches and a dust bin with 0.5 L capacity. The short height improves the vacuum cleaner’s maneuverability, as it can clean underneath sofas and furniture with at least 4 inches clearance. It weighs 7.1 pounds, which is light enough to make picking it up convenient.
The S6 Pure has a processor with four cores and a mapping and localization algorithm, making it one of the most accurate home mappers at the time of release. It also has four infrared sensors, which tell the cleaner the size of your rooms, the position of objects, and the best routes for proper cleaning. The machine has onboard memory to ensure it doesn’t have to remap your rooms every time it cleans them.
And if you are worried about its cleaning cycles, the 5200mAh battery will power the device while cleaning for about 150 minutes before needing to recharge. However, while the Roborock S6 Pure mopping was mopping, I noticed that it still bumped into some obstacles because it lacks an obstacle avoidance system.
Depending on how dirty your floor is, you can select any of the four cleaning modes on this Roborock machine:
I would recommend using the turbo or max settings to get the best airflow when cleaning carpets or rugs with lengthy plies or if you have pets. The suction pressure at those settings reaches 2000 Pa, enough to suck fur from rugs without ripping up the plies. To ensure the vacuum’s brush lasts long, regularly check and remove hair that may wrap around it from cleaning.
It excels at cleaning bigger-sized debris like nuts, crumbs, and sand from flat surfaces. But the edge-detection isn’t as precise as more premium models. You will notice some crumbs and dirt left in wall corners, so the device must go over those areas several times to properly clean them.
The automatic mopping is one of its standout features. The Roborock S6 Pure manual water tank transmits water to the cleaning pad, so the device mops spilled liquids well. Finally, you can control the device with the Roborock mobile app, which has the No-Go Zones, Invisible Wall, and Multi-level map features.
This vacuum cleaner comes in white, with a circular design that gives it fluid movements when cleaning around furniture. However, its rear-mounted exhaust blows fine-grained particles back out, which somewhat counteracts its efforts. The device has a round, plastic unit on top that houses the sensors, speedometer, electronic compass, and gyroscope for mapping.
The S6 Pure uses narrow rubber bristles, which are flexible but can miss finer particles in the first couple of tries. The Roborock S6 Pure robot vacuum and mop sit in the curved base of the device to ensure maximum contact with the floor when cleaning.
To get a robot vacuum cleaner that does the job at a fraction of the cost of more premium models, go for the S6 Pure. Though it doesn’t maneuver around obstacles as well as its more expensive analogs, the device will zip through most people’s daily cleaning needs. While I understand that your needs may differ from mine, I made this Roborock S6 Pure review to give you an idea of what to expect from the product.
