The Brother CS6000i is a computerized sewing and quilting machine with adjustable speed and a wide table. It features tons of stitch designs and, at the same time, it’s easy to operate that mak...
Read moreUpon testing both units, it was discovered that the main difference between the Brother CS6000i and CS7000i is that the former has 60 distinct built-in and decorative stitches as well as seven different auto-size buttonhole designs. On the other hand, the second one can sew up to 850 stitches per minute and has 70 different decorative and heirloom stitches built in.
Having had an opportunity to test and compare both Brother sewing machine models, I checked that the dimension of the CS6000i is 16 x 6.7 x 11.4 inches while the CS7000i is 16.02 x 6.69 x 12.09 inches. However, the older brand is lightweight and weighs 13 pounds for easy carriage. Moreover, the CS7000i is quite heavy at a weight of 17 pounds and is difficult to move around. For large quilting projects, the CS6000i model comes with a quilting extension table for any project, whereas the CS7000i features a wide extension table.
A review of the features in the Brother cs6000i model reveals that the machine offers three operational speeds: fast, average, and slow. This model handled my projects at 850 stitches per minute and was quiet, even at the maximum. Yet, the new Brother CS7000i model also offers 850 stitches per minute at an adjustable speed.
When I compared Brother CS7000i vs CS6000i, I noticed that both models sport a jam-resistant drop-in top bobbin which prevents fabrics from jamming. Besides, they both have auto needle threaders for seamless sewing and quilting. I love sewing at night, so I found the back light in the bot models helpful for making and viewing my stitch selection.
Looking at the CS6000i vs CS7000i, we see that the first model sports 9 presser feet, whereas the latter — 10 presser feet. The CS7000i offers these extra presser feet not available in its competitor: ¼ inch walking foot and spring action quilting foot.
The Brother CS6000i vs Brother CS7000i body is made of hard aluminum in the old model versus a sturdy all-metal body in the new model. Both models have hard plastic cases in the box, but the case in the CS6000i model is not as hard as what we have in the other model. Hence, you should be careful when moving both units to prevent the machine from falling.
Suppose you have the old CS6000i and have read our review on the difference between the CS6000i and the CS7000i. You might be considering upgrading to the new model. However, you need to know if these differences matter to you. After examining the difference between the CS7000i vs CS6000i, you can then decide on an upgrade or purchase.
