The Samsung POWERbot R7070 is a powerful robot vacuum, offered for a middle price. It can keep your house clean thanks to the automatic work you can spend less time cleaning. It goes equipped with a self-cleaning brush which will be especially appreciated by pet owners since it automatically detangles and removes hair around the brush so you don’t have to waste your time doing it manually. Plus, the type of floor is not really important for this smart and powerful unit: it can handle the vacuuming on carpet, wood, vinyl, etc. Also, it has 1000 pa of suction power which means that it’s 40x more powerful than most of the other similar robot vacuums.
Dimensions
The Samsung POWERbot R7070 total size is 13.7 x 13.4 x 3.8 inches. This way, it’s not very bulky but still may be too tall to fit under some furniture. Inside, it contains 300ml dustbin which is enough to provide thorough vacuuming in several rooms. It weighs 9.5 pounds so it can be a bit heavy to carry.

You can use Wi-Fi to fully control the device using the SmartThings app. It allows controlling the vacuum manually, monitoring the battery status, and scheduling cleaning. In this app, you can also see the area where the vacuum has already cleaned. However, in my test, the app was losing connection to the server a couple of times.
The provided remote control looks and works just like a TV remote. It's intuitive and comfortably fits in the hand. You can use it to turn the robot vacuum on/off, set it to recharge at the docking station, start/stop the cleaning process, adjust the suction power, and switch between cleaning modes (Auto clean mode, Spot clean mode, and Recharging/Energy-saving mode). It also has a directional pad so you can use it to route the cleaning process manually.
The rubber blade is designed to clean the hard-to-reach areas. The usage of the wide motorized brush with strong rotating motion allows the robot vacuum to clean larger areas making fewer movements. This brush also works great in loosening the trapped dirt.
The CycloneForce technology minimizes clogging thanks to strong centrifugal force which separates dirt and debris into an outer chamber. This way, the Samsung R7070 maintains a long-lasting suction power.
The POWERbot R7070 has 1000 square feet using area and produces 74 dB motor noise. Generally, it works quietly but tends to make some rattling/grinding noises sometimes. It moves around the surface in a snake-like pattern to make sure that is has covered every square foot. The transition from hard floors to carpet isn’t a problem for this robot vacuum: the large EasyPass wheels move over obstacles easily and smoothly. Additionally, there is also a roll of magnetic tape that can be used to block off the especially sensitive areas of your house.
The Samsung Robot Vacuum R7070 works from 30 to 90 minutes (depending on the mode) on one charge and requires 3 hours to fully charge. If it is not enough to clean up all rooms in your house, don't worry. The R7070 automatically returns to the docking stations for recharge and then resumes cleaning until it is completely done. Besides, you can program your own cleaning schedule. For example, you can set a time for automatic cleaning when you are not at home and this smart device will do its job while you are gone.

Design
The Samsung POWERbot R7070 goes in a satin titanium color and D-shaped form so it’s able to get around corners and edges.
There are three buttons on the vacuum’s top panel: to start cleaning, to pause/resume cleaning, and to dock the device. The LED display panel glows blue, being located on top of the unit. There you can find the indicators for smart control (off/on), Wi-Fi, battery, one-time/daily schedule, number display, and modes (Manual, Repeat, Quiet, Normal, Turbo).
Except for the display panel and control buttons, on top of the unit, you can also find a remote control signal receiver, an obstacle sensor, a see-through dustbin, a camera, and a bumper sensor.
