The Brother PE535 is designed only for embroidery. It will allow you to create your own garments, quilts, monograms, and so on. This model is not in the low price range, but because it comes with so many extras, the price is fully justified in my opinion, and you don't overpay for anything.
The PE535 Brother is a small (16.5 x 7.8 x 12 inches) machine, designed for portability. It's light and portable, weighing only 14.9 pounds. It has a 4 x 4 inches hoop space, but don't think you will be limited by that. Brother also offers a larger one if you need so. The diagonal size of the LCD touchscreen is 3.2 inches.
Brother releases its computerized embroidery machines with touchscreens that belong to the PE series. Basically, they all are very similar. For example, if you get to choose between the PE800 and the PE535, you're choosing between the models that differ only in terms of the number of built-in designs (the PE800 has 138 and the PE535 has 80) and external look.
You can import designs and save them in the machine's internal memory using the built-in USB port. This way, you won't need to connect to a USB port every time you want to use a specific design.
The Brother PE535 embroidery machine is designed for embroidering on tough fabrics such as denim and leather, which many other embroidery machines cannot handle. An automatic needle threader is a great way to save time and make your job easier.
The screen has an accurate transmission of colors which makes it easier to create the embroidery designs just as you want them to be. Since it's a touchscreen, control is intuitive. In addition, there are preloaded tutorials that will work great for those who have never owned a computerized machine before. Thus, you won't even have to read the Brother PE535 manual from cover to cover and waste time watching YouTube tutorials.
The kit includes 3 pre-wound bobbins, scissors, a needle pack, a seam ripper, and many other accessories. This model, like most Brother machines, comes with a 25-year warranty. Along with this machine, you will also get access to iBroidery (a web service that contains unique designs for Brother embroidery machines), where you can find a plethora of patterns related to current pop culture that is constantly updated.
The PE535 gives you almost everything you would expect to get from a modern embroidery machine, but it falls short in terms of versatility. So I'll give it a 9/10.
The Brother PE535 has a semi-glossy and primarily white finish. When you look at it, you can tell it's an embroidery model because it has a floral pattern in the lower part of the control panel. The control panel that consists of a touchscreen and 7 buttons is located on the right side of the face panel of the unit (which may be inconvenient for left-handers though). The embroidery hoop is easy to use and adjust.
Nothing is superfluous in the design, and the machine is simple to use. As a result, the design receives a 10/10.
The testing that I've performed for this Brother PE535 review allowed me to state unequivocally that it's a very decent machine for embroidery. It can be used to create one-of-a-kind designs on clothing, bed linen, and home furnishings, among other things. However, if you are interested in sewing as well, this machine is not so versatile.
