The Roborock E4 has so many advanced features that you can hardly think that it belongs to the low-end category. It provides an impressively long runtime of 200 minutes, a powerful suction level of 2000 Pa, etc. This all makes this model one of the best deals on the market of robotic cleaners.
The cleaner is 3.98 inches high, 13.78 inches wide, and 15.75 inches deep. Its slim design lets it maneuver in tight spaces. However, this also means that it may have problems with getting on fluffy carpets/rugs and cleaning them. It can climb on surfaces that are 0.8 inches high. Despite its compact size, the vac accommodates a large dustbin with a capacity of 680ml. The cleaner weighs 6.61lbs which means you can carry it upstairs with ease.
The Roborock E4 can be controlled via the Mi Home app or with the help of a voice assistant (if you have an Alexa or Google Assistant device at home). The app permits you to schedule cleaning time, view your floor plan, switch between cleaning modes, etc. It also saves the cleaning history and notifies you when the cleaner needs to be serviced.
This model has a Z-shaped cleaning path and uses gyroscopes and a motion tracking system to build a logical cleaning plan. It also incorporates 13 types of sensors to avoid stairs and other traps. My only complaint is the absence of the LIDAR navigation system. However, Xiaomi's Roborock S4 model can be an alternative but for a higher price.
This cleaner is effective on both bare floors and carpets. Moreover, it automatically increases the suction level as it gets on a carpet or rug. It starts vacuuming from the room's center area and finishes by cleaning the edges. The suction is excellent: the cleaner picks up most hair and dust. However, large particles (like cereals, for example) can block the dustbin entrance. It does pick up socks, so keep them out of its way. Xiaomi also offers another version of this cleaner—the Roborock E4 mop robot vacuum that additionally has a mopping system.
In addition to great battery capacity and a spacious dustbin, it also features an impressive using area of 2152 square feet. This way, the cleaner has everything to be used in big houses.
The cleaner employs the washable HEPA air filter (that is why you won't find an extra filter among the Roborock E4 accessories). So, it does not need to be replaced frequently. However, note that it must dry for at least 24 hours before being reinstalled.
The cleaner does have some flaws, but they aren't so significant considering its price-to-quality ratio. Thus, it gets a score of 9/10.
The Roborock E4 robot vacuum cleaner has a chassis made of thick, high-grade plastic and therefore feels well-built. It has a matte finish and an all-black design. Since it's controlled by the app, there are only two control buttons on its top panel (power on/off and back-to-charging dock).
The design is nothing out of the ordinary: it's standard for most robotic cleaners. So, it receives 9 out of 10 points.
As far as you can see from this Roborock E4 review, it's a great model for large houses that employs a lot of high-tech features: a powerful battery, an intelligent navigation system and logical cleaning path, a high suction level, and so on. As for me, it's unquestionably a top model for those searching for an affordable vacuum.
