続きを読むIf you're shopping for robot vacuum cleaners, few brands will give you as many good options as iRobot, especially with their Roomba line. My test units are the i7 and i6, and I will discuss my observations in this review.
You'll notice some differences when you put the Roomba i6 vs i7. While the i6 has an extra filter and side brush, the i7 doesn't. The Roomba i7, on the other hand, has a Halo mode for creating invisible barriers for the device. Both Roomba i6 and i7 models use the iAdapt 3.0, meaning they can vacuum in a straight line while cleaning your home.
When you compare the Roomba i7 vs i6, you will notice the difference in the dustbin capacity. The former has a volume of 400 ml versus the latter's 500 ml. The i6's dustbin is bigger than the i7's, but the i7 allows you to remove dirt from the bin with bags while the i6 empties itself.
The i6 and i7 have an equal suction power of 1800 Pa. But I noticed that when the i7 sucks up long hair, I have to untangle the corner brush now and then. Still, the suction power of both models is enough to suck larger particles instead of pushing them across the floor.
Another significant difference between Roomba i6 and i7 is in the surface area they can handle. While the i7 cleans about 2000 square feet, the i6 can cover 4000 square feet. In this case, the difference between both robots boils down to their batteries and runtime. The i6 can run for 2 hours, twice as long as the Roomba i7.
Both vacuum cleaners have acceptable noise levels. When you match the i6 vs i7 Roomba, you will agree that at 58dB, the i6 is quieter than the i7's 65dB. Weirdly, the i7 also starts becoming much noisier when the bin is full.
Both robot vacuum cleaners are excellent in cleaning carpets and bare floors. The Roomba i7 and i6 have multi-surface brushes, making penetrating carpet fibers easy. However, I think the i6, due to its extra filter and brush, cleans carpets more thoroughly after a few rounds.
