Roomba 761 vs 620 – Accurate Navigation and Three Cleaning Modes

I’ve checked the Roomba 620 vs 761 to review two robots based on iAdapt Responsive Navigation, meaning the ability to recognize obstacles and find their way back to the docking station. The 620 is more affordable, but it lacks time scheduling function while the 761 is a newer and more expensive model with the opportunity to program time for cleaning and longer battery life. At the same time, both appliances cannot boast such smart features as voice control and Wi-Fi compatibility.

Suction and dustbin capacity

The comparison of the Roomba 761 vs 620 showed their decent power. The three-stage cleaning algorithm ensures the suction of large dirt and debris and finer particles. Besides, they seal away the allergens. Both models feature three cleaning modes to clean the central space of the room, hard-to-reach areas, and to remove spots.

The size of the 761’s dustbin is 2 cups. If the room is dusty, it’s necessary to empty it at least once during the cleaning cycle. The indicator in the dustbin shows the right time for emptying.

Using area

While checking the using area of the iRobot Roomba 620 vs 761, I’ve noticed that the 761 easily maintains about 600 ft2 of wood and tile floors in the house. When it cleans carpets and rugs, it handles only 300 ft2 per cleaning cycle. At the same time, the 620 cleans up to 1,000 ft2 on a single charge. Note that Roomba 761 tends to miss spots while roaming large areas. So, it’s better to allow it to clean smaller sections.

Noise level

When I compare iRobot Roomba 761 vs 620 in terms of noise, the difference between the two models is audible since the Roomba 761 has 55 dB and works quietly, while Roomba 620 reaches 65 dB at its peak power, making too much noise.

Carpet cleaning

Both units are designed for carpet cleaning, but they don’t work on rugs with fringed ends and long fibers. Moreover, the 620 even cannot transit from wood to a high-pile rug. However, these robotic vacuums can remove the dirt and pet hair from low-pile rugs.
