Roomba 620: Simple Vacuuming Robot with iAdapt Navigation System
The present Roomba 620 review is a good way to make yourself aware of this simple but powerful model from iRobot. It uses a 3-stage cleaning system that is able to handle even the dirtiest areas by loosening, lifting, and suctioning the dirt.
Dimensions
Having 17.7 x 16.9 x 4.7 inches in size, the iRobot Roomba 620 is not the smallest model from the iRobot series. It’s quite heavy, weighing almost 13 pounds, so if you need a portable unit, this model may not be the best for you.
Features
The main brush features an advanced design. Its pieces have different lengths which eliminate the risk of any debris getting left behind the cleaner during the cleaning process. Two side brushes that extend from the cleaner are so tiny that you may think that they aren’t able to clean anything. However, they spin very intensively to get into the tightest areas.
The iRobot Roomba 620 robotic vacuum is also pet-friendly as it handles pet hair with ease without getting clogged up. It works with the hardfloor (tile, linoleum, etc.) and carpets, and adapts to the floor type without user intervention. It also operates quiet enough to not disturb you from watching TV or talking on the phone.
The iRobot iAdapt navigation system examines your home and creates various passes to provide an effective cleaning. There is also a Dirt Detect feature that uses acoustic sensors to find the dirt and clean it. The protective bumpers and drop sensors protect the unit from damages. The anti-collision sensors prevent it from getting stuck in front of furniture or clutter.
The Roomba 620 goes to the charging dock when it’s low on charge but doesn’t resume cleaning afterward so you have to set it for work again.
The present model goes without a remote control and can’t be controlled by an app. Obviously, it significantly limits your controlling possibilities as there are only 3 control buttons on top of the unit. However, iRobot offers to purchase a remote control separately. Despite having only 3 control buttons, the cleaner still provides the cleaning scheduling feature.

Design
The sides, edges, and the carrying handle of this round-shaped vacuuming robot are black, while the top cover is available in 3 colors (white, grey, and black).
The control buttons are located right in the middle of the top plate. There are the Spot, Dock, and Clean/Power button (it’s surrounded by green LED ring). The troubleshooting indicator can be found on the right side while the dirt detector is on the left. The infrared sensor is placed at the top of the face panel. The bin release button is located parallel to it at the lower part of the op panel.
Conclusion
The Roomba 620 is a fairly simple device which, however, is still capable of saving your time on household chores by providing thorough cleaning and navigating across the room in an intelligent way. Although it can’t provide any sort of remote control out of the box unless you buy a remote separately. It’s a significant disadvantage as most cheaper models are shipped with the remote control.
