This Ecovacs Deebot N79 review is about a budget vacuum cleaner with the Wi-Fi connectivity to control it via mobile devices. Note that it’s also possible to use remote control. Although this model lacks the carpet cleaning option (it can move on the high-pile rugs, but it works slowly, non-efficiently, and сan get stuck), it comes with some smart features and the ability to clean spots and edges.
The N79 is a low-profile model with a height of 3.1 inches meaning the ability to clean hard-to-reach areas under the furniture. Its total dimensions are 13 x 13 x 3.1 inches. Besides, it’s a very lightweight device (6.7 pounds).
The Ecovacs Deebot N79 robotic vacuum cleaner has enough suction power and an effective Smart Motion system to handle both small and larger debris on bare floors (wood, tile, laminate, etc.). For example, it completely removes either ground condiments or pistachio husk with two spinning and one V-shaped brushes (the latter provides deeper cleaning).
Besides, this model handles multiple rooms on the same floor. It lacks the auto-mapping function but it keeps cleaning to achieve the necessary result.
Let’s consider the vacuum’s other features:
The N79 copes with the dirt on the low-pile coverings. The unit is even great about sucking dirt and animal fur that is deep down in the carpet up. However, it misses such small contaminations as sugar, sand, etc. Besides, since the small-sized rugs are lighter than the N79, it pushes them, causing the rugs to fold. It goes over thresholds flawlessly.
Bear in mind that the N79 can be entangled in cables. Don’t worry if the device touches the pets’ bowls on the floor since it doesn't knock them over.
If help with the vacuum is needed, use the Deebot N79 manual that isn’t in the package but should be downloaded from the manufacturer’s official website.
The Ecovacs Deebot N79 has a traditional circular form-factor to rotate 3600 and a matt-gray upper part with glossy sides. There is the switch-on button on the top and the light indicator to inform if the Wi-Fi is connected. Its battery feeding pins, a filter, and a dust collector are at the bottom of the device.
The unit comes with the installed rechargeable battery pack and a solid cleaning kit including four spinning brushes, remote, docking station and a cord, batteries, cleaning tool for a roller brush, and two HEPA air filters. The brushes look solid to last for quite a while and the filter can be reused after being cleaned. The latter should be replaced every three months on average.
The N79 offers awesome value for the money. The key unit’s characteristic is its simplicity and control. The robotic vacuum does its job for medium-sized spaces, but it can hardly be the right choice for those that have a lot of carpets at home.
