Dimensions
The Singer 4452 is 15.5 x 6.2 x 12 inches and it doesn't take up a lot of space. It weighs 17.55 pounds. The free arm is approximately 3.37 inches (W) x 2.5 inches (H). Its circumference is near 10.62 inches. The distance from center needle to the upright arm is around 6.25 inches and it’s 3 inches from center needle to where the free arm ends. The presser foot clearance height is 0.25 of an inch, but it can be raised to 0.12 of an inch.
Features
I want to highlight in my Singer 4452 review the device’s belt-driven system. It makes the machine quieter and provides protection if it hits such obstacles as a button or zipper. Being equipped with a solid motor, it allows working with thick fabrics. The key is to use the correct needle and to replace it when it gets dull. This model is not computerized, so it doesn’t have the automatic start/stop button. It runs by a foot pedal and has a hand-operated lever for backward stitching.

The Singer sewing machine 4452 has 32 unique stitching patterns, however, there’s no satin stitch among them. It also lacks dedicated serging stitch, but similar left and right overlap stitches are onboard.
Design
The Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine 4452 comes in a durable plastic cabinet with a metal frame. It has two turn knobs on the front panel. The larger one is for choosing a stitch design and the smaller knob regulates the length of the stitch. Note that the turn knob to adjust the width of the stitches is located on the top of the machine. The reverse sewing lever is also there to secure the beginning and the end of a seam. The manual thread cutter (a little razor) is on the left side of the machine.
The main plug socket and the knob to switch on/off the light are on the right side of the item as well as a slot to adjust buttonhole stitch balance. The unit has a removable extension table to store accessories there. An extended sewing surface is available to attach.
The set of accessories consists of both metal and plastic feet. The plastic ones are for grade vinyl or other fabrics that tend to stick to the metal feet. The clearance plate, an unstick foot, and an extra pack of needles are in the package.
The machine lacks a carrying case to move it around, but it has a cover to prevent dust settling.
