The Roomba 880 is a robotic cleaner, able to clean up to 3 rooms. It’s equipped with an intelligent iAdapt Multi-Room navigation system that uses numerous sensors to smartly navigate throughout your home floor surface and adapt to it.
Dimensions
The cleaner weighs over 8 pounds. Being only 3.6 inches tall, it is designed to fit under different types of furniture, like beds or couches. Having a width of 13.9 inches, it’s about the size of a steering wheel.
Thanks to 650 ml dustbin capacity, you can forget about emptying the bin more often than after 7 cleaning sessions.
Features
The iRobot Roomba 880 uses a standard 3-stage cleaning system (agitation, brushing, suction). With a mighty Gen 2 motor inside, the unit provides intensive and effective cleaning. Thanks to rubber extractors, it grabs debris from all floor types. These extractors are also tangle-free and will not get clogged up by the hair and other debris. It also reduces the unit’s maintenance as you won’t have to waste your time trying to untangle your cleaner so it could continue cleaning. However, the Roomba isn’t the best model for vacuuming up pet hair.
The side brushes are designed specifically for corners and edges. The AeroForce filter works great in trapping dust.
Setting the cleaner to work at a Lighthouse mode, it will perform cleaning in one room without moving further.
Thanks to special optical sensors, the vac detects the areas with the highest dirt concentrations that require special attention. Besides, they work perfectly to ensure that the cleaner didn’t miss any single area of the floor surface.

Being equipped with a self-charging feature, it docks automatically, so it will always be ready to clean.
You can set the Roomba 880 to perform everyday cleaning. It can be controlled via onboard buttons or via the remote control. However, the included remote is very minimalistic and only has the direction buttons to guide the cleaner manually, and Auto, Spot clean, and Dock buttons.
Design
The iRobot Roomba 880 robotic vacuum is a disc-shaped black-colored model. The large Clean/Power button is located at the very center of the faceplate. There is also a row of 4 control buttons: Dock, Clock, Schedule, and Spot. Above them, you will find the indicator lights that stand for battery status, troubleshooting, and full dustbin. As soon as you turn the unit on, the backlit display with a timer will appear above the Clean/Power button. The release button to remove the dustbin is located on the faceplate as well.
There is also a convenient flip-up handle for easy transportation.
